Streamline Ordering with Kitted Labels

When it comes to sourcing a supplier for product identification labels there are many things to consider, including the ability of that supplier to produce branding labels as well as information labels. These are items that, at first glance, may be set up for individual order lines. Did you know there may be opportunity to streamline this process by kitting the labels as one item?

The product identification label featuring the logo is configured so that it is at the one end of the part. The functional overlay makes up the remaining area. There is a slit between the two labels which clearly indicates two parts.

Advantages of Kitted Labels

Labels supplied in a kit format makes for a more efficient and streamlined assembly process. The labels are provided so that they are kiss cut for easy peel and stick assembly to the end product.

Kitted labels provide less inventory hassle. Instead of multiple items to count or receive, just one part can be called out. Less parts to count or find storage space for can translate to reduction in cost to keep parts on hand.

Designing for Kitted Labels

Designing labels so that they are supplied in kit format simply requires you to provide your specifications in the various shapes, sizes and artwork for each of the parts. One or more of the labels in the kit can be decorated with a graphic logo, warning or caution icons and any other necessary information. Functional buttons can be embossed, holes can be pierced for buttons, LED windows can be transparent or clear, and graphics can be configured for backlighting.

Material Options for Kits

Due to the nature of supplying multiple parts on one card or in one strip, the material choice for kitted labels needs to be flexible. For this reason, kitted options are available for review on case by case scenario with plastic substrates including polycarbonate, polyester, and vinyl.
